NOGA AMBULANCE ESTABLISHES AMBULANCE STATION IN UNION TOWNSHIP
New Castle, PA- Noga Ambulance Service is proud to announce the opening of their Union Township Ambulance Station. Located at the Westgate Plaza, this station will provide ambulance service to residents of Union Township, the West Side of the City of New Castle, Mahoning Township, North Beaver Township, and Bessemer Borough.
“Union Township has been one of our busier townships to which we provide ambulance coverage, and the deployment of this station will allow us to provide quicker responses locally,” said Brian Shaw, Chief at Noga Ambulance.
The decision to base an ambulance station in Union Township was determined by not only the call volume, but also the amount of time it takes to reach critical calls within the township and areas to the west. The new station will benefit these areas, especially during time of heavy traffic congestion and in-climate weather.
Noga Ambulance has recognized an increase in call volume over the past few years due to the Wal-Mart Plaza and the continued residential and business developments in the western side of Lawrence County. Noga Ambulance continuously tracks their response times to all municipalities, which remain within acceptable national standards. By opening a station in Union Township, these response times will be even better and will benefit each of our patients.
A 16-hour ambulance crew will staff this station during the daylight and evening hours and as the demand increases, additional hours will be added.
“With our history of dedication to our local communities, we are extremely excited to be a part of the Union Community and look forward creating long-term relationships built on Quality Service by Dedicated Employees”, said Emmalou Noga.
Noga Ambulance remains a locally owned service with a standing tradition of providing Lawrence County with superior emergency medical care. The service continually strives to provide Lawrence County residents and visitors with the most modern life-saving technology and equipment available. Since June of 2006, new cardiac monitors have allowed Noga Paramedics to quickly identify heart attacks to decrease the time before a patient receives life-saving thrombolytic medications or cardiac catheterization. These monitors also have a 12 lead EKG capability, which is the most definite diagnostic tool available to identify myocardial infarctions. In addition, the heart monitors are able to monitor capnography, or a patients end tidal CO2 when an endotracheal tube is in place.
Noga Ambulance maintains a fleet of 19 vehicles equipped for Emergency & Non-Emergency Ambulance transportation, Paratransit, and Off Road capabilities with an additional three vehicles on order. Each unit is outfitted with GPS, (Global Positioning Satellites) so our dispatchers can track our entire fleet from a computer screen. GPS technology, paired with ambulances at designated staging areas, allows for shorter response times to both urban and rural emergencies in Lawrence County.
Noga is the only ambulance provider in Lawrence County to have four stations strategically located to provide a timely response to all regions of the County. A thank you is extended to the Moses family as owners of the Westgate Plaza for recognizing the importance of expanding the ambulance coverage to Union Township and beyond.
“We are pleased to welcome Noga Ambulance Service to Westgate Plaza and are glad to be part of providing Union Township and beyond with the quality emergency care that Noga’s provides”, said George Moses, Owner of Westgate Plaza.
Noga Ambulance has been providing ambulance service to the residents of Lawrence County for over 30 years. They operate 11 Ambulances, 2 Advanced Life Support Squads, 6 Wheelchair Vans, Rehab Trailer, and a Kubota Off Road Rescue Unit by a staff of 85 employees from stations in the City of New Castle, Neshannock Township, Union Township and Ellport Borough.
